Kai Whaka Pai is synonymous with Wanaka. Kai's prime location on the lake front, where it catches all day sunshine makes it a great place to sample the local beers and wines while watching the world go by.
The Kai (as referred to by the locals) is famous for producing everything they sell on the premises and people travel far and wide for loaves of home baked Rye Bread and Banana Cream Pie. Kai Whaka Pai has a great buzz all day and then transforms into a more intimate vibe after 6pm. There is a fabulous new wine bar situated upstairs. The Pa Runga (maori for upstairs) Bar is an intimate setting with leather seats, furry cushions and the best view in town. Perfect for those pre dinner cocktails and meeting up with friends. Dine with us and enjoy generous servings and good home food comfort.
